Welcome to the “Bankruptcy Information for Dish Landlords” web site. This site is operated by Telecom Law Firm, P.C., a California-based law firm that works for wireless tower site landlords, including private and government landlords with Dish Wireless as a tenant.
As you may likely know (since you are visiting this site), Dish Wireless has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. If you are a Dish landlord, and Dish has has stopped paying you rent, then this site may be of value to you.
To preserve your rights as a Dish creditor (if you are NOT a government Dish landlord) in the bankruptcy proceedings, you must timely file a Proof of Claim form with the Bankruptcy Court no later than August 7, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.
For governments that are Dish landlords (are you a government? check here: defined in 11 U.S.C.A. § 101(27)) including municipalities, you have until December 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Central Time to file your proof of claim with the Bankruptcy Court.

As you’ll see, the form itself is fairly straightforward, and some landlords will be comfortable filing it themselves. The form requires you to provide information about the landlord, the unpaid sums due, and proof of the obligation (generally, a copy of the lease with all amendments).

Additionally, and separate from the above described claim in the bankruptcy proceedings, the FCC approved an order establishing a $2.4 billion escrow fund as a condition for approving EchoStar’s (Dish’s parent) FCC license transfers to AT&T and SpaceX. This fund is to help ensure that landlords, tower companies, and others who have been unpaid by Dish have a path to be reimbursed for at least some of the monies owed. However, the FCC established fund is only available if you have:

- A final judgment from a court; or
- An arbitration award, or
- A settlement with Dish (or its parent company or affiliates).
Therefore, to have an eligible claim for the FCC fund, you must obtain a final judgment, arbitration award or settlement. The FCC has not given a filing deadline for submitting claims to the fund, so there may be time to discuss next steps. That said, if you qualify under any of the three ways to open the door to accessing the funds, we should discuss sooner rather than later.
At this time, the critical filing date is August 7 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. That’s when the District Court’s Proof of Claim form must be filed to preserve your rights in the on-going bankruptcy proceeding.
